Authors: Vincentson M. Reales, Raymond James P. , Torres and Danielito R.  Escaño

Abstract: Microcontroller-based ventilation system role is for the users to be more comfortable. Though the aid of microcontroller we can operate the system from a certain distance. The remote control transmits a tone using a radio frequency. This tone is decoded by a receiver, since the receiver only switches when the tone is receive and the system will function according to its program. This project aimed to develop a microcontroller-based ventilation system in one of the room in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Technology (DIET).The development will include the operation of a multiple electric fans simultaneously and separately with same microcontroller device. This will make the system more convenient to use by removing the problem of having multiple remote controllers. The design project was developed from January 2017 to March 2017 in Brgy. Alulod, Indang, Cavite. The project was evaluated by the student and instructor in Electrical Technology Section of the Department of Industrial Engineering and Technology under the College of Engineering and Information Technology. This project design composed of Gizduino Microcontroller, RF module 4 relays, single relay switch, Terminals and 4 single switches. These components are mounted in the fiber glass base using screws and knots for easy assemble and disassemble in case of replacing some device .These components are covered by a fiber glass frame and cover, so you can see all the components inside the housing. It has a good wirings and tagging’s so it is easy to determine where the wires were connected. The microcontroller-based ventilation system can operate and control the power of the orbit fans but cannot control the speed of each fans, however it can still change the speed in the conventional switches. In case of malfunction of the system the orbit fan can be used through manual operation if the single switches were turned on. The added feature of the design project is the automatically power down of appliance. If the user forgot to turn off the orbit fans, the system will automatically shut down after two hours to prevent power consumptions. However if the system shut down it can be easily reset. The reset button is placed beside the lighting switch.
