Abstract: The study identified the significant factors affecting labor productivity in the salt producers of Cavite. The significant factors consisted of manpower, management, materials and equipment, methods and other related factors that affect the labor productivity of the salt farmers in the production of salt. The subjects in the study were composed of 54 respondents coming from the different salt producers of Cavite. Four salt farms were considered in the study namely Bagnas, De Guzman, Encarnacion and Villamar Salt Farms, which are all located in Kawit and Noveleta, Cavite. Descriptive analysis was made to determine the demographic profile of the respondents such as age, gender and years in service. Descriptive analysis was also made to determine the labor productivity of the salt farmers. The result of correlation analysis showed that the significant factors that affect labor productivity are: manpower, management, materials and equipment, methods and other related factors. Based on the result of the study, given thirty (30) factors and six (6) labor productivity questions, there are twenty (20) results factors that have significant effect on labor productivity. Furthermore the result of the study has found that there have been labor productivity problems in the salt producers in Cavite, and disclosed the four general significant factors, which were rated to have more than a moderate influence on productivity such as manpower, management, materials and equipment and methods. Most of these factors have high correlation to materials and equipment, methods and management such as old and inefficiency of equipment, shortage of tools and equipment, long working hours under the sun, lack of protective gears and lack of available workers.
