Gender-Based Analysis among Sportswear Sewers at selected Tailoring Shops in Cavite

Abstract: This study was conducted from August 2017 to April 2017, the purpose of this is to determine the gender based analysis among sportswear sewers. Also it aimed to describe the demographic and socio-economic data of the sewers, their gender roles, in terms of access and control, and lastly in terms of decision making. The respondents is composed of 100 sportswear sewers both male and female. Their age range from 20-65 years old. It also considered their civil status, educational attainment, their status of appointment, and length of service. The result of the study revealed that in their gender roles prior to reproductive activities mother and female did the light task better while father and male children did the hard task. Prior to productive activities male did most of the task in the workplace. While female had more time in leisure activities. In terms of access and control, female had access over productive and reproductive resources while male had access over benefits. Vice versa in terms of control. In terms of decision making, mother was best in executing decision in reproductive and leisure while father was best in executing decision in productive.
